Spot of ‘seconditis’ but can’t complain!

The horses seem in good form and we’ve had some pleasing placed efforts over the last couple of weeks, with one winner (SEARANGER) at Wolverhampton. SMILING JESSICA, LANDING NIGHT, RUNNING IN HEELS and RONN THE CONN have all finished second and should hopefully build on their runs to go close next time.

SEARANGER won his third race of the season under a great ride from Dougie Costello to bring our flat winners total to 15 for the year (13% win strike rate & £47.13 Level stake). Great to see his owners ICM Racing at Wolverhampton on a Saturday night to cheer him home and he has now definitely earned a winter break. He will no doubt be back next season and should provide his owners with many more fun (and winning !) days out.

We are very busy at home, a few nice young horses have joined the team and there is lots of ground work going in to them. With the heavy rain we have been making full use of our new and improved schooling lane and the lads have been busy getting the babies going over poles and barrels.

The surface in the round pen has been improved with the addition of 10 tonnes of carpet fibre, it’s a new type of material which is almost like felt, giving a great cushioned feel underfoot and a good protection from the frost.

Looking forward to this week, runners at Sedgefield (PORTO DU SUD) , Wetherby (PAIN AU CHOCOLAT , GENRES, PANTOMIME) , Musselburgh (RUNNING IN HEELS ), Doncaster (RONN THE CONN and HALCYON DAYS).

Will be heading to the Magic Moments Northern Racing Awards on Friday evening as two of our horses have been nominated for awards –  HALCYON DAYS and PAIN AU CHOCOLAT. Looking forward to a good evening there & raising some money for the Magic Moments charity.
